THE PANGAEA METAPHOR

Pangaea was the largest supercontinent in Earth's history — a single landmass that united every continent on the planet before slowly breaking apart over millions of years into the world we know today.

We chose the name because it captures something essential: everything on this planet is connected, even when it doesn't appear to be. The land beneath your feet, the creatures that came before us, the climate patterns shaping our future. It's all one continuous story.

WHY DEEP TIME MATTERS

Earth's 4.6 billion year story is the longest written record we have, of survival, adaptation, and resilience. It's a climate record, a blueprint for how this planet responds to catastrophe and comes back from it. Every mass extinction, every ice age, every volcanic event that should have ended everything — it's all still there, written in rock.

That record matters more now than ever. In a world that feels increasingly uncertain, deep time gives us something to stand on as a species, a reference point bigger than any single headline or news cycle. It's perspective, at a scale nothing else can offer.

PROTECTING THE PAST

From day one, a portion of every Project Pangaea purchase has gone toward protecting the land that holds Earth's story. And one of the most significant places in the United States carrying that story is Dinosaur National Monument.

Sitting on the Colorado-Utah border, Dinosaur National Monument is one of the most significant prehistoric places on Earth. It's 200,000 acres of canyon country, wild rivers, ancient petroglyphs, and Morrison Formation rock faces that have been building for 150 million years. Inside the Quarry Exhibit Hall, over 1,500 dinosaur bones remain embedded in the rock exactly where they fell. Not replicas or casts, but the actual bones of Allosaurus, Camarasaurus, Diplodocus, and Stegosaurus, still sitting where they were. And beneath the surface, countless more remain to be discovered.

Pangaea once united every landmass on Earth into one. Our mission is to protect as much of that land as possible. Wild, undeveloped, fossil-bearing land, preserved not just for us, but for every chapter that comes after. Dinosaur National Monument is the physical embodiment of that mission. It protects fossils, educates the public, and preserves some of the most irreplaceable landscape on the planet.

Our national parks are under more pressure than ever. Places like Dinosaur National Monument depend on people who care enough to show up. 2% of every Project Pangaea purchase goes directly to the monument. Because the next chapter of Earth's story is only as good as what we choose to preserve today.

A NOTE FROM THE FOUNDER

"I was always the dinosaur kid growing up. Jurassic Park on repeat, shelves of dinosaur books, a drawer full of figurines. Most people grow out of that phase. I never did.

As I got older, that fascination widened into something bigger. I look at how beautiful this planet is today, and I can only imagine how beautiful it was throughout its history. From a time when there was no life on land at all, and it was just beginning in the sea. To an age when dinosaurs ruled every corner of the planet. To giant megafauna roaming across the continents. Every version of this Earth fascinates me endlessly."
